Reverb 10 | Prompt 4 | Wonder

Prompt 4

Wonder. How did you cultivate a sense of wonder in your life this year?

Wonder...Well I'm trying not to bring everything back to being a mom but really this year was all about that. I have never been one before and I wondered whether I was going to be a good one or not. I still don't feel like it is all real to me yet but I try to encourage Max everyday to do and explore some new, to wonder about it later. I let him play with things that he is curious about like the Tupperware cabinet, it kept him busy for hours yesterday, and I myself have being trying new things throughout the year. This goes back to trying to finish all the projects that I have started. :-)
I wonder how things are going to turn out for us as a family. Will we stay here in OK? What is Max going to be when he grows up? When am I going back to work? How is everything to work out with my parents' divorce? Just some thoughts or my current wonderings...

Reverb 10 | Prompt 3 | Moment

Prompt 3
Moment. Pick one moment which you felt the most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (textures, smells, voices, noises, colors).

My Moment was when everyone was gone from coming to see us and Max and it was just Tim, Max, me , and the puppies in the house for about a week before Tim went back to work. It was nice to be able to not have to go upstairs to feed Max that I could do it right there on the couch. It was so much more relaxing. Now don't get me wrong I enjoyed the family when they were there but it was nice to see them go. It was at that moment that we all became a family. It was a great feeling.

Reverb 10 | Prompt 2 | Writing

Prompt 2
Writing. What do you do each day that does not contribute to your writing - can you eliminate it?

Each day I try and write for Max but sometimes he is the reason that I can't write. I use to blog more and do more stuff around the house but I'm home each day taking care of Max so it makes doing things for me a little harder. It is all a balancing act. There are some day that I don't come near a computer because I'm busy chasing an 11 month old around the house. He is getting so fast with crawling these days I can barely keep up.

But I look forward to the days where Tim can take the reins even for a few hours so I can steal some time in my studio to get caught up on whatever needs to get done creatively. I hope for more time in the future as Max gets older and a little more independent. Love you Big Boy and I wouldn't trade this time with you for anything in the world.

Reverb 10 | Prompt 1| One Word

Here is what reverb is all about. Go and read and participate if you like. I'm playing catch up so I will have two posts on this today.

Prompt 1

Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you are choosing that word. Now image that it is one year from today, what would you like your word to be that captures 2011 for you.

My word that I chose to try and do was determined. I was determined to do many things, such as lose weight (which I did, but need to lose more), keep up with scrapbooking, and just to finish all those projects that have been sitting around the house just screaming to be complete.
I wasn't great but I wasn't terrible either. It has taken me some time to get adjusted to all the change this year. Which really should have been my word for the year. My father said it best, it is the year of change. So far this year here are some of the changes.
  • I had Max January 1, 2010
  • My parents separated after being together 35 years
  • We did a huge international move from England to the US (Oklahoma specifically)
  • We bought our first house
  • We paid our first mortgage
  • My parents start dating other people
  • I'm still home with Max not working
  • Tim got a new job outside of the normal shop that he is use to
  • Max is growing and ever changing from day to day
  • My sister got in engaged
  • My parents divorce was final on Thanksgiving Day
  • My Mom is probably moving to Rhode Island to be with her boyfriend
  • This is our first holiday season in the states for 7 years now

A year of change....for next year I'm hoping for a calmer more laid back kind of year. Fingers crossed it comes true.
