Letters

Dear Santa,
Please give me back my hips, the ones that Max gave me are too big, if you could find my old ones so that I can wear some different pants it would be greatly appreciated. Also if you could throw in a non flabby stomach and feet that are a size 7 and not 7.5 that would be great. I have to sell all my shoes because my feet are to big now.
Signed,
A new mom
......

Dear Max,
Please stop growing so fast. Today I found you standing in your crib and I didn't put you there like that. You are attempting to walk and while that is great for your development, it is sad because you are no longer a baby. Love/d you as a baby.
Signed,
Mom
.......

Dear mailman,
Could you please bring me my mail before 5 p.m. each day. I would like to read my mail before I eat dinner. Thanks.
Signed,
A resident of Moore (suburb to OKC)
........

Dear Honey Baked Ham,
I look forward to eating one of your hams on Thanksgiving, I just hope that it isn't to expensive when I finally go to pick it up. Thanks.
Signed,
A person who hasn't eaten a Honey Baked Ham in 7 years
.........

Dear Mother Nature,
Please be kind to New Hampshire in January or really the whole east side of the country, as my family and I will be traveling there for a friend's wedding. So please, no major snow storms or icy roads as we will be doing a lot of traveling up that way and would like to be safe.
Signed,
A concerned traveler

Love This!

I found this on Ali's page, thought it was too cute, so I had to post it here too. I should have done something like this at my wedding, though I don't think my mother would have enjoyed it much but how awsome. Enjoy!

Family Visit

My Dad and Sister have been here now for about 3 days. We have had a lot of fun so far. My birthday went well, still have to take pic of my presents. I got a Wii game from Tim and I got a lot of sewing stuff from my friend Chris. Thanks Tim and Chris, love them both.

The first day that my Dad was here we went out and walked the dogs. There is a small river that runs through the center of the village. Dakoda likes to swim in it but it is only about 2 feet deep so it isn't all the challenging for him. Anyways, there is a small bridge and I tried to get Dakoda out but my Dad was convinced that he would swim under neath it. He didn't and got stuck and scared so I had to go in and get him. Here is a picture of me afterwards, wet pants and all. Fun times.
On Friday we went out to our local pub for dinner and drinks. I told Tim that we would know half the village by the time we went home that night. My father is a bit of a social butterfly, which is always a good thing. Anyways, we did the self picture of Tim and I. The food was really good and there is nothing like a Strongbow from the tap. It tasted so much better than from a can or even a bottle.
Bri really didn't want to drink and we didn't make her but she met one of the guys in the pub who bought her a few friendly drinks. She ended up having more than she wanted and in the end didn't realize how strong Strongbow was. This is her early in the night.
And here she is the next morning in all her glory. She was suppose to go and cut down a tree with one of the couples in the village but that didn't happen either. We all have one really good night. She was fine by about noon anyways.
The dogs always take a particular liking to my father. Dakoda pretty much follows him around the house and wants to sit in his lap all the time. Most times he wants to put his face right on top of yours but Dad usually ends up throwing him off and this is where Dakoda ends up, I guess he looks at it as the next best thing.
The weather has been a bit chilly lately. My sister thinks it is freezing and burned through almost my entire bag of wood but she did just come from like 70 degree weather and my dad from about 80 degree weather so I guess I can't really blame them. We are going to Bristol today to go to a rugby game so my sister and Dad are out walking the dogs. In my opinion this is a bit extreme as far as bundling up but it is like Daddy always said, "You can take it off if you have it on, but you can't take off what you don't have." So here is Dad all ready to go out and walk the dogs.
Other than that there isn't much going on. We are probably going to London on Friday or Saturday. Both my father and sister leave on Sunday and then the following Saturday my SIL and BIL fly in for about 10 days. They leave the 19th and then the 24-27 we go to Scotland for a long weekend. The weekend after that we have our neighbors from Thetford come down for a long weekend. Then at the end of May we are going to Cheese Rolling. Busy Busy...gotta try and fit some crafty time in there as I have many projects that need to get finished like yesterday.
Okay, that's all for now. Will post pictures of the rugby game later. Until then...

Snow Day #2 + My blond moment

So we got 4 inches of snow last night and I had a blond moment. Yes, this is my car. I left the door open last night while it snowed. This is the inside. What a bonehead move as my father would say. Oh well, we all have them at one point or another. This will go down with the rice story.
4 inches of snow = no work for me

Leave the Waxing to the Professionals

****Edited: This is not my story....sent via email from a friend. That being said, it has to be true, you couldn't make this kinda stuff up*****

I started waxing about a year or so ago. I get mine done only by professionals. I have had a good wax and I've a few really bad waxes. I get the Hollywood, those of you who wax know what that is, if you don't, please look it up, I'm not explaining here. But this story is for those of you who wax, you will appriciate it. This was sent to my by my friend Chris. Enjoy.

Hair Removal Horror Story!!!
All hair removal methods have tricked women with theirpromises of easy, painless removal - The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nairand now...the wax.

Read on...

My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, and play with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours: "Maybe should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet."

So I headed to the site of my demise...the bathroom. It was one of those "cold wax" kits. No melting a clump of hot wax. You just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off. No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclinedenough to figure this out. (Ya think!?!)

So I pull one of the thin strips out. It's two strips facing each other stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees."Cold wax"...yeah...right!

I lay the strip across my thigh, hold the skin around it tight and pull. It works!!! OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this! Hair removal no longer eludes me!!! I am She-rah, fighter of all way ward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.

With my next wax strip, I move north. After checking on the kids, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship.

I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet. Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side ofmy bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching downto the inside of my butt cheek...it was a long strip. I inhale deeplyand brace myself...RRRRRRIIIIPPP!!!

I'm blind!!! Blinded from pain!!! Oh my Gawd!!! Vision returning...I notice that I've only managed to pull off half thestrip. Crap!!!

Another deep breath and RIP!!! Everything is spinning and spotted. I think I may pass out...must stay conscious...must stay conscious. Do I hear crashing drums??? Breathe, breathe...OK, back to normal.

I want to see my trophy...a wax covered strip; the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it. I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph overbody hair. I hold up the strip. There's no hair on it!!! Where is the hair??? Where is the wax???

Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on thetoilet. I see the hair. The hair that should be on the strip...it's not!!! I touch. I am touching wax!!! I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair.

Then I make the next big mistake...remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet? I know I need to do something. So I put my foot down. Sealed shut!!! My butt is sealed shut!!! Sealed shut!!!

I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure outwhat to do. I think to myself, "Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off!!!"

What can I do to melt the wax? Hot water!!! Hot water melts wax!!! I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should melt and I can gently wipe it off, right???

Wrong!!! I get in the tub. The water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment. I sit. Now, the only thing worse than having your nether regions glued together, is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot water.

This, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax. So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cemented myself to the porcelain!!! God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom.

I call my friend, thinking surely she has waxed before and have some secret of how to get me undone. It's a very good conversation starter "So, my butt and hoo-ha are glued together to the bottom of the tub." There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me.

She wants to know exactly where the wax is located, "Are we talking cheeks or hole or hoo-ha?" She's laughing out loud by now...I can hear her.

I give her the run down and she suggests I call thenumber on the side of the box. Yeah...Right!!! I should be the joke of someone else's night.

While we go through various solutions, I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor. Nothing feels better than to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!!!

By now, my brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this event.

My friend is still talking with me when I finally see my saving grace...the lotion they give you to remove the excess wax. Whatdo I really have to lose at this point?

I rub some on and oh my gawd!!! The scream probably woke the kids and scared the dickens out of my friend. It's sooo painful, but I really don't care..."It works!!! It works!!!"

I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up.

I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair...the hair is still there...all of it!!!

So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb bynow...nothing hurts.
I could have amputated my own leg at this point.

Next week I'm going to try hair color.
