A Mismash of stuff

This is probably going to more of a random post about a little bit about everything kinda thing. As usual I have like 800 things to do and no desire/drive to do any of them right now, too tired. Anyways, just thought I would show you pictures of my messy room that is desperate for a clean up.

My computer desk with a freshly reloaded computer thanks to Tim. Thanks! I think it run faster now.
My mess of crap. This layout has been sitting here for the past 6 weeks. The sad part is that it only needs like 2 small things and it is finished. No desire.

Another shot of messy work area. I think there is every kind of craft on these tables.

This past weekend, I went to London with one of my best friends for her birthday. I took her to see her first London show. We went and saw Wicked. What an amazing show!!! You don't have to be a fan of the Wizard of Oz to love this show. It was great, loved it, I will go and see it again when family arrives.
My Wicked program, I always get a program.

While in London you know I had to get something for Tim. I was looking for something that I knew he would like but yet was unique and didn't cost to much. Then I came across these. Yes, that's right, they do say Pasta Boobs on the front. Chris was going to get him a Boobie neck pillow but it was really dirty so she opted out. They even had Boobie Soap-on-a-Rope.
I went up on Friday night to see Chris and her family. She made "the chicken" which is like when people come here they get "my lasagna". It was nice to be taken care of, not that Tim doesn't take care of me but I didn't have to cook, didn't have to clean up, and got to sleep as long as I wanted without having to be woken up by the dogs or any other thing around here. I got the nicest Mother's Day card from her too, Thanks Chris for a very special weekend, I had a good time.
After spending the couple of day with Chris I went up to see our old neighbors, Shelley, Drew and their daughter Lily. There house looks great and has come along way from when they first moved into it. They are still working on trying to make it "perfect" and I think they are going to get what they want in the end. I can't wait to see it when they finally do the kitchen but in the meantime, all their hard work looks GREAT!!
That's about all I guess. This weekend I'm staying in, except for Friday night, have to make our bi-weekly pub trip. We are suppose to be meeting friends so it should be a good night. Other than that, I'm going NO WHERE!!! I'm so tired and need to catch up on everything!! Berry picking season is just around the corner so I need to find my jars and get them ready for jam. Saves me time come Christmas when I don't have to make any extra cookies and well with the baby coming around that time, I'm not sure how much I'm going to be doing anyways.
Okay, that's it, maybe a post of more substance later.

The Never Ending Week

Is it just me or is this week never ending. I mean I know today is Friday and all but damnit Jim, can't the time go just a little bit faster today. I'm tired and I really don't want to go to work. I have to go food shopping today. I sorted through all of my coupons yesterday while I was testing, I have a very large pool of pull from. I think I'm going to save a lot of money which is always a good thing and I feel like I'm going to get a lot of shit for nearly nothing. Last time I went food shopping I saved $15.45. Not bad if you ask me. I found a lot of $1.00 off coupons. Yes I know it is sad that I'm getting excited about these things but sometimes it makes all the difference to be just that much more organized. There is a slight advantage to shopping at the commissary over seas. They will take expired coupons for 6 months past their date. Yeah I know, kinda cool huh? There is no rush to go and buy 8 boxes of Coco Puffs just to get a $1.00, I can do that 6 months later. Alas, there is a disadvantage though. We don't' get all the stuff that we have coupons for. Like all those cool new products you get at home, we may not see, ever. It is always kinda exciting when we go home and just walk around the grocery store just to see what new shit they have. My MIL always finds this entertaining. She lets me walk and do whatever just so I can see. Either way, that is the highlight of the day, that and it is panni day at the CAC for lunch. Sad I know but it is the little things in life ya know.

My To Do List - Finishing Up

  1. Finish the endless pile of laundry, it is never ending
  2. Finish painting one of my storage units for my room. I have the outside done, just need to paint the inside which should be interesting. It is a nice pretty red, love it.
  3. Decide whether I'm going to put a 3rd coat of gray on the end table that I finally got around to painting. I need to paint the shelves again on both sides.
  4. Finish Chris's birthday presents. I got mine early and LOVE THEM (pic later, probably with my birthday post, which is coming up...26th)
  5. Finish fabric wreath
  6. Finish Christmas garland...I had even intention to do it this past Xmas but well now that the pressure is off I'm more apt to do it. again, pic when finished
  7. Finish my unfinished scrap booking projects. I have this habit of starting a layout and then when I think it isn't going well I kinda just put it off to the side and come back to it later. It works most of the time it gets to be a bit much when there are like 5 layouts that still haven't been finished yet.
  8. Finish my bucket list album of the stuff that I have done. Need to print pictures for this. I have a lot pictures just need to do them.
  9. Put all of Tim's photos in the new albums that we bought last night at Tesco
  10. Need to order new sneakers...BAD! My feet are killing me. I haven't had new sneakers in over a year. Not like me, I use to get new shoes ever 3-4 months. I miss home at times.
  11. Need to order drinks for my father.
  12. Need to get the guest room ready
  13. Need to figure out what we are going to do while my Dad and Sis are here
  14. Need to frame pic for Mom that was suppose to be a Christmas present but I think will work out well for a Mother's Day present
  15. Need to figure out what to get Mom for birthday, it is right after Mother's Day, I'm thinking new Pampered Chef stuff. We can start with bamboo spoons so she get rid of the nasty wood ones. Any comments Mom??
  16. Need to sew to use up some of my fabric...I have to much.
  17. I need to be more organized this year. I'm working really hard on that, I think anyways. The kitchen table it still my nemesis...I will conquer that though.

The Cocoon Tuck

I don't think I have properly made a bed since I got married. I think the one time that I tried the top sheet ended up pushed all the way to the bottom of the bed which means on the floor because we didn't have a foot board until a few years ago. Tim is a "tucker." You know the kind. When you get into bed at night half if not three quarters of the blankets are cocooned around him. It almost looks like he has turned the flat blankets into a mummy sleeping bag.

The Cocoon Tuck has been going on for many years. Tim wasn't a fan of the top sheet ever. If you look at our sheets the top sheet is twice as bright as the fitted sheets because we never wash the top sheet because it is never used.

Recently we bought new sheets. They are pretty sheets, Martha Stewart and they are stripped with yellow, white, some green, and a little bit of brown. Very pretty. I got all the pillow cases to match and I even got extra in a coordinating color to add some interest (I secretly want to design stuff). Last night before going to bed, Tim asked if I was going to change the sheets. I said if you want you just need to go and get them. Tim brings the basket upstairs and starts putting on the fitted sheet. He looked in the basket and said we had another sheet. I told him that was the top sheet, he said that he knew and started to put the sheet on the bed. At this point I'm totally amazed. Once the sheet was on I started to tuck the sheet in, like you do with sheets. The whole process of how to make a bed was coming back to me.
Tim-what are you doing
me-tucking the sheet in
Tim-oh yeah...
me-this is how you are suppose to sleep in a bed. Are you going to tuck in the sides as well
Tim-Tuck in the sides? I guess
me-Are you going to be okay with sleeping with a sheet on the bed
Tim-We'll see how this goes.
So last night was one of the first nights that Tim and I have slept together without so much as a remote Cocoon Tuck. We have been married 6 1/2 years. Small victories people...small victories....

Right now...

1. I'm wondering if the snow is going to freeze tonight and become ice that will make me spend another day in the house

2. I'm almost done with all of the cleaning that I wanted to do before I left for Germany

3. I'm still not packed for Germany and wonder how I'm going to put a dress in the backpack that I'm taking with me without wrinkling it. I hope the hotel has a steamer or something...might have to do the steam shower trick.

4. I think I have been in the same pink PJ pants for 3 days, the bottoms are looking a little rough, I think it is time for a wash.

5. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to be when I grow up

6. I'm tired and think I'm going to be shortly but feel that I need to post something other than stuff about the snow. I'm getting tired of listening to it myself.

7. My house needs some flowers, it looks boring. It needs to look more homely

8. Both my puppies are sleeping, and that's where I'm going....Night

2 Hour Delay = A Clean Frig

Today wasn't quite a snow day as much as it was a 2 hour delay day. I got to go into work later than usually because I was suppose to move furniture around because we are having construction done on our building. I still got up at the normal time and I called to find out what time I had to go into work today. I didn't have to go in till 11. Great I thought, what am I going to do till then? There is never anything on TV so I figured I would mark off one of my cleaning projects that I have listed to do before I go to Germany.

I chose cleaning the frig. While this isn't a hard task, it can be interesting at times. You find the Tupperware container containing....well who really knows?? You actually look at the expiration date on items and, you finally throw away that salad dressing that might have just enough dressing in it for a salad sized for a 4 year old (very small). Now I know all of us at one point or another has found the mystery item, was it a casserole or some sort of potato dish. You know you don't want to taste it because in reality you don't honestly know how long it has been in there.

Today I found my ham....left over from New Year's. Yes that's right, New Years. Now don't act all innocent, I knew my mother kept things in the frig for way longer than they should have been in there. I remember this one time she make something....it was cheese potato of some sort, don't really know. It was in a very large casserole dish. At the time my Uncle Kris was living with us and we had 3 dogs, 2 of which lived outside. Sheba was the dumbest dog you would have ever met. She loved everyone and she rarely barked and when she did, she didn't do it for long. She would also eat anything. My uncle decided that he didn't want to smell up the house with throwing this casserole of sorts out in the trash. So he brought it outside and sure enough, Sheba ate the whole thing, licked the dish clean.

I also find once I take everything out like the shelves and such that I can never remember exactly where they were. I put it where I think it goes and then I realize when I start to put all of my stuff back in the frig that the juice is now hitting the top of the frig because I didn't put the shelf in the right slot. Go figure. They you get use to this arrangement and adjust where you put your food, that is until you clean you frig again and it end up a different way again.

Now that my frig is clean, there is nothing in it. There are always condiments of sorts but not really any food. I was going to make spinach stuffed chicken with feta cheese. It is really good, made the recipe up all by myself, although I'm sure it can be found some where in the Wild world of the Internet. I opted for pizza, will make the chicken tomorrow.

Post Secret Sunday

It's Post Secret Sunday. I read these every Sunday, it's amazing what people will send in. The weird ones make you feel like you aren't the only weird one. Anyways, I really liked this one (below) today. Thought it was very light hearted, just wanted to share.

My Current Issues

My current issues
  1. My wireless thing still isn't working and there is no one here to fix it. Please don't give me advice on turning it off, plug it in while standing on your head and drinking water or any other "tips" that you know of to fix this cause I have tried them all. I'm at the point I'm ready to throw the computer through the wall, at least my computer
  2. My room is again a total mess to the point where I really think I need to buy some more storage type units. But I want them to be different. I want them to be kinda designie (yes that's a word, I just thought of it) but have function too. I need to hit up the antique stores, might do that today if they are open.
  3. I have to many projects to count and I'm like Jojo the idiot circus boy to the point where I can't stay focused on just one. I want to scrapbook then I want to paint, then I want to sew and then I see the mess the dogs made in the hallway and I need to do that as well as clean the bathroom, which I really don't want to do, but I'm so scatter brained I don't know what to do. My kitchen is a mess too.
  4. I'm tired and I'm ready to go back to sleep but I have to many thing that I need/want to do (see above #3)
  5. A shower might be in order today, feel kinda gross.
  6. There is nothing on TV and I'm not sure why I don't just put a movie it, I think it is laziness to be honest with you.
  7. I need to go through my emails again. I did this last weekend and reduced it from 27 pages of old email to about 7. I keep stuff with ever intention to read it, like the jokes that get sent to me but I'm lazy and it never works out that way. Right now I have 9 pages, I just cleaned email out last week. Sad I know

Think that is all for now. Might come back again later to say if I have done any of the above, more than likely I'm going to do #4 again...tomorrow is MLK day so NO WORK!! Yeah.
