One up, 2 down

This morning I wake up not feeling so hot. I have decided not to work today, the joys of being a sub. The phone has been ringing for me to work so I finally answer it and tell her the I'm not well and should be able to work tomorrow. I'm also low on gas and well need to get some errands done so I guess the not feeling well is working in my favor although you wouldn't know it. So I get up go down stairs and start the coffee. The dogs want to go out and Dakoda has this little stuffed frog from the Xmas tree that we decorated last night. Last year he had this obcession with this ornament, not sure why. It is like the kids like the big box better than the toy that came in it. So I remembered this from last year so put I put it up higher on the tree. I went to look at the tree only to see that it had fallen over. Great....I look and see some broken stuff. No it can't be the ones that I can easily replace, they are the ones that I have to go back to that place to get it, like IRELAND! I'm so pissed. It was a hand painted bell that I got at St. Patrick's cathedrel in Dublin. Damn the luck. So I try to pick the tree up and put it back up right and then I hear the squeaking of one of the dogs' toys. Well since I'm the only one home, there is broken glass every where I have to put the tree down again and get up and move it. Finally I get the tree up and then it is like titer tottering to fall over. I see there is a cord that the stand is on, I move that, again, nothing still wanting to fall over. I see some hand weights under my baker's rack and of course either the tree is going to fall over again before I can get to them or I'm going to have to hold the tree up. I'm very annoyed at this point. It also doesn't help that I'm allergic to pine so my arms have broken out in red spots, my nose won't stop running and I have run out of allergy meds again. I went to call it in last night, I still have 5 of the 11 scripts left. Then the automated thing says that my scripts have been cancelled. How is that? oh yeah, I have sap all over me and the tree is still not standing. What a great day to take off huh?

I remember when I was a kid that we had a tree that kept falling over as well. It was surrounded by a couch and wing back chair so it usually didn't fall far. Eventually it fell over so many times that my father went out and got a piece of rope, tied it to the middle of the tree and wedged it between the cushions of the wing back chair. It was pracially brand new cause we all hated it and it was slightly uncomfortable but whatever. I think I still have a picture of that tree. I guess looking back it was funny but not so much at the time. I remember my mother being the most upset and my father, sister, and I telling her not to worry about it but she did. In the end she laughed. Maybe the same will be true for me.
