One of many projects

My sister was saying that I haven't updated my blog lately, seriously, its been 3 days. Anyways, I wanted to share what I did tonight. I have had the idea for a while, I stole it from somewhere. Anyways, here is a cork board that I have had since I was about 7 y.o. Really it is that old, if it isn't then I switched my old crappy one with my sister and she has the older crappyer one. Whatever. Anyways, I'm bored with my room, as always, it needs color so some sort. Since I have a big problem with buying paper I have a smaller but more expensive problem of buying fabric. I think I'm pretty good, just wish I could sew faster or really not as lazy. So I had this fabric that looked really great on the computer, but when I got it, the pattern on the fabric was REALLY big. In my opinion it was too big to do anything with in a quilt, might try to make something else with it. But I did use it for this project cause it is bright, which it what my room needs.
Old cork board
I took the fabric and put some interfacing on it b/c it was kinda thin. I didn't want the cork to show through the fabric. Then I took my staple gun and pulled the fabric around the board.

After I pulled the fabric all the way around I had some ribbon that was given to my by my good friend Christine. I pulled in a pattern and stapled it down.

Here's my finished product. It is more of an inspiration/place for my pictures so I remember to scrapbook them.

With a few more pictures on them.
I did some painting as well, but nothing to be proud of, I ran out of paint. I will get more tomorrow. I'm also going to play with my new Bind-it-all that I got from my parents for Xmas. I'm going down to get more chipboard covers. Have another project in mind for a friend.

My 150th Post

I think this is sad cause I have had this blog since 2006 and I'm just now reaching 150, whatever and who cares.

Still no real word on the job at the education office. I'm trying not to care so that I'm not disappointed when something bad happens which is the feeling that I'm getting now. I really need something though.

We are going to the Arts and Crafts Fair tomorrow at Croughton to sell some stuff. Tim is doing this photography thing and I have just started selling Tupperware. We'll see how this all goes, keep your fingers crossed for us. I have been doing little projects around the house. I reorangized my room again, well kinda, I put a bigger table in here which I LOVE! More space. Now I have one table for sewing and one for scrapbooking. Yeah, spoiled I know...no kids remember.

I have been doing some painting. I have had the urge to paint something and well I have finally got a chance to itch that urge. I have some shelves that I'm painting and I have this small drawer thing that I have paint, still deciding on colors. I think I need another light now. My room is kinda dark in some areas but we'll have to wait on the light for now.

Okay, I'm bored with this and need to get some stuff done, like what are we going to have for dinner. I might do that spanich stuffed chicken thighs again. Homemade...they were kick ass. Really! I had 2 as did Tim. Okay...enough....

It came on Monday, and I hung it the same day, I just couldn't remembe where I put my camera so that I could take pictures of it. It looks so nice in my room, I'm so super excited about it.

I Bought It!!

Just wanted to let you know that I bought my melting clock. I got the purple one cause I need to be different and I don't have a lot of purple in anything in my life really. I bought it on Etsy. I LOVE that website. There are so many cool things that people can do with practically nothing. Anyways, just wanted to share. Will post pictures of the new area that we live in later today.
Tim was really great yesterday. I had a sinus headache that knocked me on my ass yesterday. I didn't even go to sewing class. Kinda upset but I didn't have much to show for anyways. So he came home and we walked the dogs together but this time I didn't have to hold Maggie, he did. He said that I could get a chance to take some pictures. I'm always complaining that I never get to take pictures cause I'm holding Maggie (we don't let her off cause she is a bassett hound and once she gets a wiff of something she is gone and it could be a while before we find her, so we dont' let her go often). Isn't he sweet. Anyways, pictures a little later.

The bookshelf from IKEA

The bookshelf....as promised.
The bookshelf from my kickass IKEA day. The stuff on the bottom shelves are eventually going to be in baskets but I have to find some first. I love this thing!!
