What do you do...???

Okay, so what do you do? Maggie is only a year old and she keeps pissing in the house. We have only had her for about 6 weeks and have been very tolerable of her bodily functions. We punish her, etc. but she still can't seem to get through every day without pissing. So yesterday I come home from school and neither of the dogs are jumping at the door like they normally are, I wonder why. I walk in the house and step in a huge puddle of piss. The best part was that the dogs heard me come in ran to the door, ran in the piss, and then went and jumped on the couch. I was freaking out. So I put both dogs outside and start to clean up the mess. As I was going to let them out I noticed a brown spot on the carpet by the back door. I said to myself, "That looks like poop." Well since I can't really smell I had to go looking for it and sure enough, I found it. Maggie had pooped in the dining room which is where all of Tim's tools are right now cause he is still putting the floor down. Maggie must have eaten something that didn't agree with her cause it was half runny (sorry for the graphics). So I punished her, put her in her box (kennel) and started to clean up the mess again. I swear I went through half a roll of paper towels to get it up. The best part was is that we just steam cleaned the room to get the smell out of it. So Tim gets home and I tell him what happened. I told him that she is going to stay in her box all day tomorrow. His first question is did she poop on my tools. Typical man. Anyways, then he complains that I didn't get all the poop up, which I think I did there were just spots left. I told him that while I was trying to do this the puppies were ready to go for their walk as they have been in the house all day. I just got a look. Anyways, so what am I suppose to do with her. She was kenneled for almost a year and we are trying to break her of that cause we don't like kenneling. I remember this use to happen with Dakoda. We use to put him in the box as well and he eventually learned. The disadvantage of Maggie is that we didn't have her as a puppy so it is like teaching an old dog a new trick. So we will try this for a couple of days and see how she does and if this doesn't work I'm taking suggestions.

On a lighter note, my kids were really good yesterday in class. I got to run all of the classes yesterday. I'm still a bit nervous but I think that is only because I'm having my evaluator come next week and I just don't want to screw up. If I remember correctly as long as I don't do anything to endanger the kids I should be fine. I think I'll feel better when she is gone. I have to do some boring stuff just to put on a show for her. I don't really want to do any soccer drill but the other teachers suggested it. I figured for a 40 minute class I could do 2 drills that last about 10 minutes each and then play for the last 20 or so. I'm sure they won't even last that long, the drills that is. The main goal is to get them playing. The class that she is coming to observe only has 28 kids in it so they are more manageable than the class that has 44. It is 2 classes combined but everything for the most part in PE is co-taught. It's kinda nice. I feel old when they call me Mrs. (insert last name). I guess it is something that I will just have to get use to, right? I feel lucky that I have about 5 soccer players in there as well. They'll keep things interesting. Yesterday they were trying to hit inside a square painted on the wall in the least amount of kicks. Kids will make a game out of anything. The game then moved into who could chip the ball in the basket with all of the other balls. Competition is everything. The sad part is that the DoDES (Department of Defense Education System) wants to get away from competive activities. They want the kids who aren't athletes to feel that they can be successful without winning. What a crock of shit. Anyways....Thanks for the shout out K, glad you like the website I just updated it about a week ago, I get slow sometimes. Tim is getting fanatical about his pictures now that his is getting his art certificate. See ya later....from across the pond.

I don't know what you do because we are working through a similar problem at our house. Apollo was pissing in the living room in the middle of the night so we started to close the door to the bedroom side of the house and that got rid of that problem. Now Georgia is pissing on her bed at night. We threw away the old ones, Peanut had peed on it once so I thought that maybe she was doing it because his smell was there, and bought her a new one. Lo and behold a few days later it smelled like pee. I actually caught her the other night peeing on it. I don't know what to do, she can hold her bladder all damn day and now that I have caught her I know she is doing it on purpose and not because she can't help it. I was thinking that maybe she was just losing control in the middle of the night. The poop I am sure Maggie couldn't help but the pee I just don't know what to do. We are going to get some of that Urine Out stuff because a lot of times they continue to do it just because the smell is still there. Good luck and if you get any good advice please pass it on and sorry about the long comment.
