Some things are different

There are some things that are slightly different living here in the UK compared to the states. There are the obvious things, they drive on the other side of the road and the other side of the car, everything is REALLY small here because everything is REALLY expensive and well there is more but I want to get to my point. So I have gotten into the show Lost. I think it is a great show, but the only thing is that the 2nd season is going to start here soon and I'm not going to get a chance to watch it cause it comes on way past my bedtime. I remember staying up til all hours of the night in college and now if I go to bed past like 10:30p I'm totally dead the next day. It's sad really I know but well I guess that's what happens right. So I'm sure that you are thinking, why not TvO (or however you spell it) it. Well they don't have TvO over here, they have Sky+. See there is no such thing as cable over here, everything, well most TV, is done by satellite even the shows on base are by satelite. Well to hook up to Sky you have to call them and they come out and put the dish up and then you get your box from them and then you have to wait for your special card to come in the mail to put in your box. It is all really confusing actually. Well as with anything they have deals. If you get the full package of all the channels (which is like 800+ channels or something like that) you get your dish and installation free. So of course we did that at first and after a year or so we down graded to the basic channels because we don't really watch to much TV, I guess we are more computer people and I'm sure that being in school didn't have a huge say in what I did with my time. Anyways, I kept hearing about this show Lost on Radio 1. Radio 1 is a radio station that is played all over the UK and the DJs travel from England, to Wales, to Scotland, Northern Ireland, and sometimes Ireland. Not the point, I'm still trying to get there. So my point, Sky+ is much more expensive and then I would have to have the Sky people come out to my house and do something else and then we would have to pay upwards of about 40 pounds a month which is about $75-80. Yeah I know, for TV. The other problem is that nothing ever comes on at the same time on the same channel. For example, they have a channel called E4 over here. Well then there is E4+1 which mean a show that came on at 6p on E4 will show again at 7p on E4+1. Then there is More E4 and they play stuff that I like to watch as well but everything that I like comes on so late that I just go out and buy the DVD I mean I'm still on Season 1 of 24 and I have Seasons 2 & 3 still in the plastic, sad I know. Anyways, enough about my TV woos

So I put Maggie in the kennel yesterday befoer I left for work. She still pissed in the cage. Not sure what to do now. She pissed out of the box, she pisses in the box. My only hope is that she will grow out of it, maybe she is like one of those boys that pisses the bed till he's like 12 or something. I guess only time will tell. My mom is getting her surgery next week. She is quite excited. She is getting a tummy tuck and some lipo. She has lost a bunch of weight and has a bunch of extra skin hanging around that isn't helping her look she has decided to get rid of it. She is living in Rhode Island (RI) right now and is getting it done up there. She is going to stay there until my father gets back from Iraq. My sister has about a week left of active duty marines. She is very excited to be done with them for a while. She is trying to get out of going to drill every weekend since she has been in the desert for the last 6 months. It is good to have her home, I missed talking to her on the phone, although she can be a pain in the ass sometimes I still love her. She is enrolled at ECU and will attend in the fall. I think she said that she is going into the nursing program as prep for the PA (physican's assistant) program. She is definetly much more sure of herself coming back this time around. Tim has started his second class for his art certificate. What he is doing looks really hard so I usually stay out of his way when he is doing it but most of the time he calls me in there to ask what I think. It is kinda nice that he does that. I think that is it, I think that is enough...right...??
