Racing for the Cure

This year I walked/ran Race for the Cure here in Oklahoma City. It was held in Bricktown on October 9th, 2010. It was one of those days that just makes you feel good all over.
I ran with my neighbor, Laura and her daughter, Brittany. We had other friends, Danyln and Amber, that were also in the race, just a little behind us. The race started at 8:15 a.m. Here is Brittany, me, and Laura before the race started.
This was Laura's number. I was a big loser and didn't sign up in time but I wore my breast cancer sweatshirt. Love the pink!
This was my favorite shirt all day. I saw a few people with these and wish that I had one. Next year!
Here is Laura and Danyln just after the race had started. We were waiting for Amber and her daughter.
Here are some very festive survivors dressed up. If you were a survivor you got to wear the pink t-shirt.
A few other shirts that were just a little different from the rest. Love the green and pink!
Laura and Brittany just before we hit the 4K mark...almost done ladies!
The cheerleaders on the side of road cheering as everyone walked by, this was such a great experience. Love it, definitely going to do it again next year.
The down hill before we hit the finish line. It is the arch of pink and white balloons that is just visible in the back ground.
All done! We reached the 5K mark. (I don't know the woman holding the sign but she worked with the race people and I can only assume that she will be all over FB because there was a line to get pictures taken with her...well really the sign.)
We did the race in about 52 minutes doing the walk/run thing. Not bad, the goal for next year is to run the whole thing.

I enjoyed it so much and yes, the goal for next year is to run the entire thing. I don't care the time, just so long as we run!!!
