A Bit Behind

I'm a bit behind but I figured I should post this before I start posting Christmas tree pictures since we are getting one of those today. This is my turkey in it's finally resting place, in a pot for Turkey Soup.
We never take many pictures at Thanksgiving because we are usually hosting, at least we have the last couple of years. Tim and I are usually running around like idiots making sure everyone has drinks, their coats are in the right spot and that everyone is comfortable in our home. I always read these great posts about what everyone is thankful for and every year I have every intention on doing this but time always seems to slip away and I never get the chance or really I feel it is slightly awkward saying things that I'm thankful for after Thanksgiving. After thinking about it, that's stupid! I should be thankful all the time so without further adue, the things I'm thankful for...
  • My husband who is patient with me (most times) and has always supported and loved me no matter what.
  • My parents who I feel raised me very well. I know that no matter what they will be there for me if I needed them.
  • I am thankful for my sister for keeping my patience in check. She is still growing and learning and it is good to finally see things working out for her.
  • My puppies who even when I'm in the worst moods know when to come and lay with me to make me feel better, especially Dakoda.
  • And my friends, for I would not be who I am today if not for them. Each of them has made an impact on my life in more ways than one. Thanks for always being there.

Now as far as how Thanksgiving went this year. It went well. We had about 10 people over. We had 2 families and a few single guys plus Tim and I. We served a 20lb. bird, 4-5lb. ham, and a 9 x 13 lasngna, plus all the trimming to include but not limited to, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans, sweet potato something, corn cassarole, brochli and cauliflower with cheese, a traditional apple pie, a crumb top apple pie, 2 pumpkin pies, pumpkin squares, and vanilla ice cream, oh yeah and frosted sugar cookies (my favorite). After dinner we all went and played the Wii for a few hours. Everyone seemed to enjoy Wii Fit and Wii sports Bowling. No major problems, nothing burned, and everything came out well. Next year Daddy should be here so we get to do this again. I should be fun....as always....
