Yesterday my little Honda had to go in for a 2nd MOT (inspection) as it failed the first time. We have since fixed it and well it failed again. Damn British and their stupid parking brakes (another story).
Anyways, I had the take the truck home (chevy blazer and a POS, as it breaks all the time or just when we have no $$ to fix it). So for those of you who have visited England before know that the road are about 1/3 the size of an American road. I mean this in a very literal sense. If my truck is parked in a parking spot, I can't open the door all the way if another car is parked next to me. We have to slide out of the car. So I'm driving home and I go through 2 small villages to get home. At one point in the journey home there is a VERY narrow pass around a bend. I saw this big lorry (or truck with a skip/dumpster on the back) coming my way. I moved over slightly so that he would have room to go pass me but he decided he wasn't going to give me any room and hit my truck. He hit the mirror breaking it and he broke the housing for it as well AND KEPT DRIVING!!!!
He didn't stop to see if I was okay cause if it was a British car that would have been the driver's side. The window was open about half way so there is glass in my truck now.
So when you are in a car accident in the states you call the police right. Well here in England they only come out if there is someone seriously injured and since no one was I'm the one who has to go to the police office and file the complaint with them. I was lucky that I chased after the guy to get his plate # and headed to the police station, which I found by pure luck.
All of this just added on to my long day. I'll post pictures when I take them this afternoon.
