We're In

We found out last Wednesday that Tim and I were both excepted to run the marathon in Scotland so I guess it is game on now. We went running yesterday and I'm defininitly feeling it today. My knees hurt more than anything and I can feel my abs even though I didn't do any crunches. We ran 6 miles. We run on the trail alot and I'm constantly rolling my ankles over, which really hurts but I keep going. Until I hear something pop (knock on wood) I'm going to keep going. I saw the course online last night, it was REALLY long but I think it will be pretty. We get to run along the river.

We went down to Fairford to look at a house. We drove 3 and half hours to get there to look at one house and about an hour before we are suppose to see it the realtor calls and says that we can't look at the house cause they can't get a hold of the tenants so that we could go in. Great! 3 1/2 hours and we can't even look at one house. A wasted trip, kinda. So we go and look at this other house which looked okay. The area was great for the puppies as we were right next to a bunch of huge fields for them to run around on. We called the realtor and she let us look at it. The downstairs was okay, but the upstairs was going to be very cramped. The room sizes were okay for England but once we put our stuff in there we would have been going nuts. On top of that we only get one parking spot and the other 2 cars would have to go on the street which we don't like doing cause we have the American tank (as the English would say) that sometimes attracts more attention than we liked. So we decided no on that one.

We went and look at a 3rd house which we have seen pictures of and it is a great house, looks big, lots of parking. Two problems though: 1. it sits on a major main road and 2. We couldn't move in til I think the 1 April and we need a house for the 1st of March. I hate this!

We also went and look at the base, which is VERY small but that's okay. We shopped on base alot here but have cut down alot lately. The BX is really small and very limited so we will be shopping online alot but we are use to that now. The commissary is bigger than what I had expected so I'm pleased. They have most of what we eat now so like I said I'm not really worried.

Down the street from the base are a bunch of huge lakes. They seem to have a water skiing club there which would be great and there a bunch of sailboat there as well. Would make for a good weekend. All in all it wasn't a total waste going down there. The countryside is just beautiful down there. We are both very excited to be going. Now we just need some place to live.
