Holiday Recap

Thank god it is over. I mean don't get me wrong, I love Christmas but it was so long ago and I'm exhausted, aren't you? Anyways, I will start from the beginning.

Dec 19th
Last day of work for me but I didn't get called so I didn't have to work. Yeah

Dec 20th
Had to run around get the last minute stuff for Christmas as the weekend was going to be very long and tiring cause we are going everywhere except the North Pole.

Dec 21
Baked cookies all day with Lily, my 10 y.o. neighbor. It went well, we baked alot. Made Choc. peanut butter chip cookies, normal choc. chip cookies (double batch), oatmeal raisin, plain oatmeal, and rice crispy treats that we dyed with red food coloring but they came out pink. We wrapped them up to make them all pretty with the holiday wrap that I bought, and we even put some ribbon in them as well. We made like 8 plates and there were still a ton of cookies left over from the whole ordeal. I think Tim took them to work or something cause there is nothing left.

Dec 22
Squardron Christmas Party. Not the most exciting thing, we had to take "prom-like" pictures at it. It went as well as could be expected. It was hard for Tim to try and "work" as well as enjoy his own party. He said that he would do it again but not for his own squadron. So far we have only sold one picture but we are hoping that when everyone gets back to work that they will remember to come to Tim and get their pictures. We'll see though. It was long, the food wasn't great either and we didn't win anything. It was over by about 9:45 p.m. We were there till about 11p cleaning up our stuff.

Dec 23
Dinner/Xmas party with my old boss. We ate early, thank god. We had smoked turkey, ham, and I made a baked Ziti along with some pies and stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms could have been better whatever, they ate them. I got all Pampered Chef stuff for my presents. I got the carrying case that is insulated so that I don't have to worry about a hot pan on my lap or sliding around the back of my car. I got the basket that my 9 x 13 pan goes in so that it looks pretty on the table, I really like that, and I got some bamboo serving spoons and the small square bowls to finish off one of my dish sets. I also got a spa day. Very excited and happy with my stuff!

Dec 24
I think we went to the base early. Christmas Eve is for Tim and I. I made a rib-eye roast with mashed potatoes and green beans with shittake mushrooms. We watched our traditional movies A Christmas Story, National Lampoo's Christmas Vacation, and Elf. We were up till a little after one. I called my family while I was cooking and we called grandmother's around 11p so that we could get "passed" around the room and talk to whomever.

Dec 25
We woke up around 9 or so, came down and opened the 4 presents that we had. I got A Christmas Story calandar and a puzzle along with a book from Tim's mom. We got towels from my Mamma, and Tim got a book on Duct Tape, a duct tape related t-shirt, a roll of duct tape, and a gift certificate from B & H Photo. Tim got me a display case for my Hard Rock pins which I love. I got a Tom Tom 920 (GPS) so that I don't get lost when I have to go to work and call and yell at him cause I'm lost, and I got a watch for running (I just need to start running again). Both grandparents gave us money as did my parents. Mom wasn't much in the Christmas spirit cause we weren't home but dad told her that this is something that she is going to have to get use to. I'm not coming home anytime soon and my sister is now living in New Orleans and is a 17 hour drive away from home. She can't just come home on the weekends whenever she wants now. Poor mom, I miss her.
So after all this, we eat and start to get ready to go over to the neighbors' house for Xmas dinner. We go over there and eat some more and open more presents. Tim got the rest of his gear for sea fishing and some slippers to leave over there. They are interchange moods. He can either be Mr. Happy or Mr. Grumpy. They are way cute and he loves them. I got my Vera Bradley messenger bag which I love, lots of pockets, a new pair of frog slippers, a Gramet mug where his nose turns red when hot liquid is poured into the cup, and of course chocolate. We ate turkey with all the trimmings and played the Wii (Lily's Xmas presnet) till about 3am.

Dec 26 - Boxing Day
Boxing day is a big thing in England, it is like another Christmas. Everything is still closed except for like the gas stations and you basically repeat Christmas. We were over at the neighbors' house again til all hours of the night. We ate more food (I'm so fat now it isn't funny) and played the Wii again til about 2:30 a.m.
At this point during the week Tim had been fighting a cold, I mean really fighting it. Well at some point you have to give into the cold so that you could get better. This came the next day.

Dec 27
In bed sick taking care of Tim trying not to get sick (it didn't work, me not getting sick). We basically watched movies all day and caught up on sleep cause we have been exhausted from all the running around.

Dec 28
Still sick but we went over to show one of the guy's wives that Tim works with how to use her new Nikon D40. We ate dinner and then we went home.

Dec 29
Tim went sea fishing with all his new gear. I nursed my hangover from the night before and around 1p went scrapbooking over with the neighbors. Had a good time, got 3 pages done which is good for me.

Dec 30
Took pictures of a family at 930 IN THE MORNING. The kid was way sick and probably shouldn't have left the house but we pushed on cause Tim was still sick as well and I'm sure a day out at the beach didn't help him all the much. It was a good family though. Normally we have to take over 100+ shots to get a few good ones but this one only took about 85 or so. Tim found about 16 for her to choose from. They look good to me. He got to play with one of his new lights that he bought for like $8.00. I like it and out of all of his shot that one was his favorite.

Dec 31
Tim still sick. He had to work all day and then we were going to go out but he wasn't feeling up to it. So we stayed in and watched movies. We only made it to midnight cause we were up watching movies.

Jan 1
Laid around and did nothing.

Jan 2
I'm in bed all day sick, sinuses mostly. I watched the rest of LOST: Season 3 and started Numbers: Season 3.

Jan 3 - Today
Feeling better but don't know where to start doing anything so I figured I would start with my blog since it has been way before Christmas since I wrote here. So I gave you the highlights, nothing else to really report. I go back to work next week, not looking forward to that but I'm starting to get bored around the house. We move in about 58 days I think. The movers are suppose to be here around the 18th of February. I have already started going through the house but I'm sure there is more to do. I'm starting to freak out as I do when we have to move again. Moving sucks! Oh well, until another day...
