Long Over Due

So I got an email from a friend saying that I have dropped off the face of the earth (which I kinda have, :-) and she said that she hasn't seen an update on my blog for quite some time now, like 3 months. So I figured I would give an update on what has been going on in the last 3 months.

Shortly before my last post Tim left for the desert. If you were keeping up before you would know that I can't tell you where that is but know that he is surrounded by sand all the time. He will be gone til around the end of next month possibly the beginning of February. I don't really know cause they tell us nothing of who what where when why and how of their comings and goings.

In October my mother flew me home for 10 days for my cousin's wedding and my grandparents' 50th anniversry. My father also flew home for this and my mother flew my sister up from Greenville for the same events. It was the first time that the 4 of us have been together at the same time since I left for England. I had originally flown into Albany and spent a few days with my in-laws which was nice and I got to do alot of shopping which I and Tim really needed. We haven't really bought alot of clothes over here for 1. the styles are sightly different 2. the selection isn't great and 3. it is almost double the price b/c of the exchange rate. So I shopped til I dropped and bought everything from a new camera, to scrapbooking stuff, new clothes, and lots of movies. You never realize how much you miss walmart til you don't have it anymore. Seriously, try not going to walmart for like 8 months or any store like it (Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.) Maybe then you'll understand. Anyways, so I went shopping and my SIL cut my hair which looks great. I'm going to hold out til May to get it cut again. We are going home in May 2007 for Eric's (Tim's best friend) wedding. Oh yeah, Eric also had a baby with his girlfriend now fiance I think. They had a boy Nov. 20 by C-section. His name is Eric John Jr. Cute kid. They are getting married May 19th.

Moving on, so I was there for about 3 days and then I drove to RI (my mother paid for my rental car, I have a nice mommy and daddy) and I was there for about a week. The wedding went great, it was a nice wedding. My cousin is spoiled so she got everything that she wanted, as a bride should though right? She is and was pregnant when she got married. She has a problem with morning sickness for like 3 months. She lost like 20lbs. in about 2 months from throwing up. She was unsure about whether she was going to make it through the day but all worked out well and I don't believe that she got sick at all that day. She is due in April/May by the way. She is having a girl so she is happy. She already has a boy. So anyways, wedding went well, I got drunk and a good time was had by all.

Of course my Nana and Pappa decided to have their anniversiry party the next day at noon down at the beach. Yeah, not feeling great the next morning, still not sure how I made it through that day after the night before. So we drove down to the beach house that grandparents live in and went down and set up the room. There were alot of people there that I hadn't seen in a long time. It was a good day, the food was good and I was the photographer along with my sister for most of the day. I was ready to kill my mother cause everytime I sat down she was telling me to get up and take more pictures. I mean the people were sitting down most of the afternoon, how many different shots do you want me get of them shifting in their chairs? Regardless it was a good day.

We stayed the night there and the next day and the 4 of us went into Newport to see one of the mansions down there. If you ever get a chance to go to RI go and see one of the mansions down in Newport. You will be amazed at the size and how they were built. So we went on a tour bought some stuff in the gift shop and went and shopping in town. There is a Yankee Candle store there and my father is HUGE yankee candle fan. So he bought us a bunch of stuff as well as my mother, his mother, and well anyone else in the family. We left and went back to the city (Cranston) for dinner with my other grandmother (dad's mom). Dinner was good and few days later we all left to go back to our respected countries.

Last year I cooked Thanksgiving but since I didn't have anyone to cook for I went over to a friend's house and ate there. Afterwards we went out the pub and got drunk there. It was a good time. Christmas could not come soon enough. I was a huge Scrooge this year not even sending Christmas cards when I went out and bought them. So please forgive me for not sending cards to ever reads this, just couldn't get in the Christmas spirit and honestly, who can really blame me. I'm away from my family, my husband is gone, I don't have alot of friends around here so what could you expect right? So anyways, Christmas Eve got drunk cause well its Christmas eve, what else is there to do. I did make myself and awsome dinner. I bought a Rib-eye roast and had it with mashed potatoes and green beens w/ mushrooms. It was REALLY good, so i'm pretty proud that I even did that. So afterwards I put in my normal xmas movies, A Christmas Story and National Lampoo's Christmas Vacation. I watch them every year on Christmas eve. Then around 1am I called Tim's grandparents house and got passed around to the entire family. They all asked the same questions. How's the weather and how is Tim doing. Next year I'm just going to make a dvd of what's going on and show it to them before I call so that they can just ask me other questions other than the norm. Wow, this is turning into a really long post.

Christmas Day I went and cleaned a friend's fish tank who is deployed with Tim. Yes I know, what an exciting thing to do on Christmas Day right? But at that same note what was I suppose to do. Run to the neighbors at 6 am and watch their kid open all of her presents. I'm slightly bitter but I'm over it I guess. So I did this tank and came home and wrappped xmas presents for the neighbors. I went nex door and we exchanged gifts and ate dinner. I left before they busted out the games cause I was still really tired from the night before. My mother called and I talked to her briefly before the phone got passed around my grandmother's house asking the same questions as the night before.

Now I'm just waiting for New Year's to come and go. I'm down to less than a month before Tim comes home, roughly anyways, like I said they don't tell me much. There has been other stuff going on but well these were the highlights or at least what I could remember. Tim is fine by the way. He is running a half marathon in the desert on Sunday I believe. He is getting alot of his school work done while he is down there. He will have about 3 classes left after he gets home. The puppies are fine. Dakoda is sleeping under my now and Maggie is looking out the window in my bedroom. I know that I haven't updated my webpage either, that is another project on my list of stuff to do before Tim gets home. Nothing like waiting til the last minute to do it right. Anyways, that all she wrote so I'm outta here. I'll try to keep up with this more than what I have been. I think that is going to be one of my New Year's resolutions, to keep up with this, my webpage, and friends that I haven't seen or spoken to in a while. I haven't forgotten about you guys and sometimes it just takes one person to say something to realize that you need to do something. (Thanks Kat!)
