Happy Memorial Day! I appreciate all the people that serve in any branch of the military are you are reason that we get to live in this great country.
This weekend we went and saw Da Vinci Code and X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Da Vinci Code was a good movie if you read the book. I think if you didn't read the book, read it first or you are not going to know what is going on in the movie. The history in the book makes the whole book and in the movie they go through that so fast that is makes you head spin. It was slow in part for this reason but again it is the history that make the whole thing interesting. I was slightly pissed about the ending, it was different from the book but other than that most of it was pretty much the same. They could have done a better job of building suspense like in the book. I feel they didn't do a good job of this in the movie. They could have found a better person to play Robert as well. Tom Hanks is a good actor but this wasn't his best role. He looked the part don't get me wrong but this one wasn't for him in my opinion. The supporting cast was AWESOME!!! The guy that plays the Captain and the guy that play Silas are spot on. They are just how I pictured them in my head the same would go for Sophie as well. So that is all I'm going to say about that movie.
X-men: The Last Stand was a good movie as well. It was slow at points and they really needed to put some more action in there. They did some amazing shit to the San Francisco Bridge though and they killed some MAJOR MAJOR characters in this one as well. I'm not going to spoil it but they are big characters. Big like the major character that died in the 6th Harry Potter book. Yes that big. As always they always leave room for another movie. A couple major characters lost their powers as well when 'the cure' came out. It was good and if I say any more I will start to spoil it for people and I don't want that.
The weekend went well. I finished painting finally. I just have to put the molding back on the wall and then start putting the stuff away in the dining room. We are having a party next weekend. It will be my last weekend off before I go back to work. Once I go back I won't have much time off anymore. I'll be on crazy hours again and I'm not looking forward to going back. Anyways, nothing else major to report. Only 3 more weeks till I have a masters degree. What an accomplishment, can't believe it is here already. First one in the family. I have a week left of student teaching, I'll be kinda glad when that is over. I have a feeling that Jon is getting tired of me and is ready to have his class back again. Oh well, whatever. Until we meet again....

I will hopefully be seeing the Da Vinci Code soon. I wanted to wait until it had been out a few weeks until we went to see it because I despise movie theaters. I think that I might have to go see X-Men now though. Question though, should I see the second one before this one?
It might help. There are a few things that have continued on from the 2nd that are significant to the 3rd. You should be able to figure it out but if you have time I would watch the 2nd one before going to see the 3rd. Hell, just do a marathon. :-) Tim, Mom and I did that once with Lord of the Rings. We saw the first 2 at home and went to the theater to see the 3rd all in one day. Made for a long day but it was good fun.
